The Snow-capped Mountains<\/p>\n
I want to be where the Snow-Capped Mountains are-\u00a0<\/em> I yearn for those Snow-Capped Mountains-\u00a0<\/em> But my arms are not long enough,\u00a0<\/em> -Cate Gooch<\/p>\n This was the view at Touvelle State Park yesterday. As a native Oregonian snow capped volcanic peaks mean home to me. They just do. And Mt McLaughlin is the most homiest of them all. It’s easy to forget it’s there. You have to be in the right place, somewhere north of Medford to get the best views. But every time I see it it takes my breath away. \nWhere the thoughts of today and yesterday are obsolete,\u00a0<\/em>
\nWhere you tower over every normative thought, every routine action\u00a0<\/em>
\nAnd where idealism is actually within reach.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
\nTo transcend these limits\u00a0<\/em>
\nAnd my fingertips cannot grasp\u00a0<\/em>
\nThose Snow-Capped Mountains gleaming on the horizon.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
