Thus ends the 100 days of winter project. I’m looking forward to moving on to other projects. It looks a lot more like winter out there today with more snow on the mountains but I concluded long ago that spring was just winter and summer duking it out. Let the games begin. Next week looks more springlike again.

Day 99 – Light and Shadow

I seem to be on a vertical format kick lately. This may be the last one I can milk out of the Railroad District walk but I don’t know if the weather will cooperate tomorrow so we’ll see. Hard to believe it is all coming to an end.
Day 98 – Brick Abstract
This is a closeup of a corner of a sign painted on a brick building. I though it might be fun to go abstract with it.
Day 97 – Lion
So I was really i
interested in the juxtaposition of this lion and the shadow of an oriental yard art piece. There are lions on both sides of the porch. I have a notion that someone from New York who is a library fan may live here. In any cased I processed the first one, which was shot head on, in bright colors and I liked it but then I saw this one and said “Oh, black and white” and when it was done I liked this one just a little more.
Day 96 – Bolts
Here’s one more from the Railroad District. I think the depth of field is a little off but it is sharp around the right edge of the metal strip. And yes, I’m kind of cruising down to the end here.
Day 95 – Iris
As I said yesterday, the b
est part about winter is watching it come to an end. Spring is not quite in full bloom but it can be surprising what you find out there even in early March. I found this Iris almost ready to burst forth on my camera walk last week. I wasn’t sure it really needed a texture but thought I would just give it a look. I found one called “Color Burst” which utterly transformed this from a pretty image to (IMHO) a beautiful work of art.
Day 94 – Crocuses
Here’s another one from Thursday’s camera walk. There are signs of spring all over but of course I had to publish a crocus first. As far as I’m concerned the best part about winter is when it starts coming to an end. And we are there. Hurray!
Day 93 – Tread
Well, I did it again. Spaced out the image of the day. At least I was working on my Boneyard web gallery and processed this image yesterday so that counts, though it might not have been my first choice if I had been thinking. Guess I’m really just ready to be done with this. One more week! Yea!
Day 92 – Porch Chair
As I think I mentioned yesterday, you never know what you might find in Ashland’s Railroad Distrcit, especially sitting on people’s front porches. I may have gotten enough material yesterday to finish out the 100 days project.
Day 91 – Rusty Hardware
It was a beautiful day for a walk in Ashland’s Railroad District. You never know what you might find if you keep your eyes peeled. I expect there are other Ashland neighborhoods that might have some hidden treasures but the Railroad District has the advantage of being fairly flat.
