It’s that time of year when it is hard to find a good weather window to go out and shoot and the over 5000 images I have in my files from this year are nagging at me. So, this week I started the process of sifting through and deleting those with no redeeming value and… Continue reading Summer Flowers

Van Gough meets Lithia Park
I thought that being in the throes of moving I had completely missed fall color this year but a post from a fellow photographer alerted me to the fact that Lithia Park in Ashland was still putting on a pretty good show. It was hard to pick an image of the week there was so… Continue reading Van Gough meets Lithia Park
Poppy Impression
Well, photography has been about the furthest thing from my mind this week as I have been busy closing on my new house and working out all the last minute bugs. So, I had to pull something out of the archives to process at the last minute. This poppy was shot in April at the… Continue reading Poppy Impression
Day 96 – Orange Flower
Not sure if this is a marigold or what but I tried to get a little different perspective on it. Did the usual processing in CEP.
Day 95 – Milkweed seeds
On my camera walk in North Mountain Park the other day I found bunches of milkweed seeds. I may have to go back with the big girl camera as it was hard to get the degree of sharpness required for these beauties with the little one. Standard processing and yes I forced myself to forgo… Continue reading Day 95 – Milkweed seeds
Day 94 – Morning Glory
I took a stroll in the park yesterday and found some amazingly beautiful Morning Glories. Still fascinated with Topaz Impression. This one got the Cezanne treatment
Day 89 – Birdhouse
I’m still having fun with the Topaz Impression software. Which is good because it has been pouring rain for two days so I was going to have to revisit old images anyway. This one uses one of the “Van Gough” presets.
Day 83 – Rose
I saw this rose blooming in my Mother’s yard and had to take its picture. Something about a fall blooming rose touches my heart. This one got just a little detail, saturation and warmth. But the darken lighten center really made the image by giving it depth and drama.
Day 73 – Apple
Some of the Apple trees in my parents garden are older than me. But they just keep on producing. This one got about the usual post processing but there was also a texture involved.
Day 65 – Cherry Tomatoes
The garden is waning but the cherry tomatoes and green peppers are still going strong. Have to love the color wheel opposites in this one and it doesn’t even look like Christmas. Post processing about as usual except no brilliance/warmth needed.
