We’ve all heard about the harbingers of spring. Well this red leaf makes me thing of a harbinger of autumn. Post processing was as usual.

Day 69 – Rogue River
On my way to Crater Lake yesterday I stopped at the Natural Bridge recreation area where I shot this picture of the Rogue River. This one was a challenge in post processing due to the differential lighting. I started by adjusting the blue luminence in Lightroom which I have learned can sometimes save a blown… Continue reading Day 69 – Rogue River
Day 67 – Leaf on Granite
I went for a stroll in the park yesterday and while the trees remain green there are some signs of fall in the leaves on the ground. I liked the idea of keeping the smaller leaf in the lower left as a counter point but I am afraid it leaves too much negative space around… Continue reading Day 67 – Leaf on Granite
DAy 66 – Daisy
Lacking any new captures to work with I decided to just go back to the beginning and see what I could find. These Daisies are long since faded away but I liked the blurry flower in the background. The original was seriously underexposed so I started with a levels adjustment before doing my usual tricks… Continue reading DAy 66 – Daisy
Day 65 – Cherry Tomatoes
The garden is waning but the cherry tomatoes and green peppers are still going strong. Have to love the color wheel opposites in this one and it doesn’t even look like Christmas. Post processing about as usual except no brilliance/warmth needed.
Day 64 – Sunflower
Another trip to the garden to see how the sunflowers are doing. They are doing well. On this one I used the closeup filter. No saturation or warmth needed here but I did add some detail and a center light.
Day 63 – Grapes
I saw these grapes at Farmer’s Market and I was just mesmerized by the colors. The darken lighten/center filter was really helpful in adding depth to this one. I also added some saturation to bring out those yummy colors.
Day 62 – Artichokes
It was a good day at the Farmer’s Market this week. I loved this random array of Artichokes. I arrived at this look with a flat detail extractor in CEP, some slight brilliance and warmth, and a lighten center. I then added a border because either I’m into borders right now or it was just… Continue reading Day 62 – Artichokes
Day 61- Clock
I drove by this clock many times before I caught on to the fact the all the numbers were 1. Not sure why or what the significance is. The clock graces a former gas station turned Physical Therapy office and appears to keep the correct time if you can get past the ones. I edited… Continue reading Day 61- Clock
Day 60 – Peppers
The colorful peppers were definitely the stars of the show at the Grower’s Market yesterday. I did the usual Nik tricks in post processing and added a border just because. I think there was also a smart sharpen filter in there somewhere.
