I went for drive in the country yesterday. This barn door was just one of the abstracts I got from this well weathered building. Lots of old barns and packing sheds to be found in the orchard country of the Rogue Valley. This one had the standard processing.

Day 42 – Flowers
Here are some more flowers from the Farmer’s Market. I swear I am going to get out and shoot today if it is the last thing I do. Saturation on this one was already great so I just did some sharpening and detail and a slight lightening of the center.
Day 41- Marigold
Getting out to shoot has been difficult due to a death in the family but I don’t want to abandon the project so I just keep going back through images I have shot so far to find the keepers. The marigolds in my brother’s garden are just beautiful this year and I keep going back… Continue reading Day 41- Marigold
Day 40 – Maple Leaf
I wandered around the yard looking for something to shoot yesterday but I feel like I have exhausted the good subjects. I did like the detail on this maple leaf, the back lighting, and the diagonal composition. but I still don’t think it is going to win any prizes. Such is the nature of a… Continue reading Day 40 – Maple Leaf
Day 39 – Sunflowers
Sunflowers because they remind us that the sun will go on shining and the flowers will go on blooming. Just cropped this one a little and added some detail in CEP.
Day 38 – Oregon Coast
It must be time for another outing. I just started going back through the files until I found one I liked that was different from what I had posted before. The Oregon Coast always makes for a good picture. I love what the detail extractor in Nik Color Efex Pro does with clouds. and the… Continue reading Day 38 – Oregon Coast
Day 37 – Ashland Springs
I didn’t have anything I could use from yesterday’s small amount of shooting so I had to reach back into the archives. Guess I need to get out and shoot some more. This is the facade of the Ashland Springs Hotel, a landmark and the tallest building in town. I had to adjust the perspective,… Continue reading Day 37 – Ashland Springs
Day 36 – Grunge Abstract
My brother has quite a collection of old trucks sitting on our parents’ back lot. This one they call the Crummy. It’s paint is getting pretty crummy, that’s for sure. I shot this close up near the fender for an interesting abstract. I gave it a maximum detail extraction in CEP then used a cool… Continue reading Day 36 – Grunge Abstract
Day 35 – Grist Mill
Yesterday I was busy preparing a show for my virtual gallery and didn’t get out to shoot anything new. The show is called “New Mexico Swan Song” and is a collection of images shot at El Rancho de las Golondorinos, a living history museum near Santa Fe. Honestly, I processed so many images yesterday I… Continue reading Day 35 – Grist Mill
Day 34 – Birch Leaf
The great thing about macro photography is that you can do it any time any where. My parents have so many different kinds of trees in their yard I am thinking of doing a botanical study just on leaves. This one had the standard post processing. I tried doing a spot healing brush on the… Continue reading Day 34 – Birch Leaf
