I took a little drive through the Applegate wine country this week hoping to get a chance to photograph some grapes. This image or something similar has been in my mind every since I was in Italy and too sick to get off the bus when we stopped at a vinyard. I’m hoping there will… Continue reading Day 98 – Vitus Vinifera

Day 97 – Barber Pole
I haven’t added anything to the Nostalgia collection in awhile so I was excited to come across this barber pole in Jacksonville, Oregon yesterday. I had to photoshop out some other signs and crop to make it a more generic barber shop. Then I processed it in CEP and finally took it into Topaz Impression… Continue reading Day 97 – Barber Pole
Day 89 – Birdhouse
I’m still having fun with the Topaz Impression software. Which is good because it has been pouring rain for two days so I was going to have to revisit old images anyway. This one uses one of the “Van Gough” presets.
Day 87 – Tuscan Hills
No, this is not in Tuscany. It is in Southern Oregon. However there is a sign at the bottom of the road in the background that says “Tuscan Hills”. I am assuming it is meant to become a high end housing development. I do see a hint of Tuscany in my home country, but just… Continue reading Day 87 – Tuscan Hills
Day 80 – Rogue River Bridge with Pilings
I’m back to combing through the archives. This one is from my trip to the coast back in July. I think it is about time to go again. I did the usual post processing.
Day 75 – County Fair
Here’s one from back in July that I overlooked from the carnival at the county fair. Just a little detail, saturation and warmth on this one. Plus a center highlight and a border.
Day 74 – Architectural Abstract
I used to beat myself up for not getting out to shoot every day but I am finding that sometimes I am at my most creative when I have to sift through what I have already shot to find something new. This one is an outtake from a building in downtown Ashland. I have processed… Continue reading Day 74 – Architectural Abstract
Day 70 – Vine Maple
I always seem to come back to the macro subjects even when I have been wandering in beautiful landscapes. This one had the usual treatment in Nik CEP.
Day 65 – Cherry Tomatoes
The garden is waning but the cherry tomatoes and green peppers are still going strong. Have to love the color wheel opposites in this one and it doesn’t even look like Christmas. Post processing about as usual except no brilliance/warmth needed.
Day 63 – Grapes
I saw these grapes at Farmer’s Market and I was just mesmerized by the colors. The darken lighten/center filter was really helpful in adding depth to this one. I also added some saturation to bring out those yummy colors.
