
I’m still experimenting in the digital darkroom. I stumbled on this village in Rio Arriba County back in 2007. The original photo seemed kind of bland and boring but when I added a painting filter from Topaz simplify it really brought out the colors and perhaps erased some of the harshness of poverty. I was once accused of not being a “real” photographer because I like to do things like this with my images but hey, it’s all art and the rules of composition still apply.
