In my longing for spring I picked up a bouquet of yellow lilies at the grocery store on Monday. This has turned out to be the gift that keeps on giving as every day there are fresh new blooms and I feel compelled to drag out the camera and tripod once more. This image was shot very close using a 100 mm macro lens. I used a combination of natural light from the kitchen window and artificial light from the room’s overhead. The picture out of the camera was very yellow and I wanted to bring in more color to emphasize the delicate lines and textures of the flower. A couple of detail extractors and some brilliance/warmth in Nik Color Efex pro did the trick. The hard part was deciding which image to share. I just uploaded a new batch and the lilies have numerous buds waiting to open.
