On my trip to Arizona a couple of weeks ago I had it in mind to do a lot of macro photography in Oak Creek Canyon. Between road construction and wind it didn’t really happen as I had planned. But I did get a few shots off between wind gusts and this one captured my vision of new oak leaves. In post processing I did some detail extraction in Nik Color Efex Pro and added a brilliance/warmth filter. The Perceptual Saturation 2 filter really brought out the purples in the background which I think gives the image more interest and depth. I also added a darken/lighten center filter to draw the eye to the center leaf.
