This image has been causing me a lot of ethical angst. The Photoshop assignment was to combine four images and make them look like one. What happened on this day at Bosque del Apache was that the geese flew off at 6:55 taking the ducks with them and the sun peaked over the horizon at 7:08. So no, this is not a moment in time it is a collage of events that happened over the space of a half hour or less. If I were a painter and painted my impression of a morning at Bosque del Apache noone would question my ethics. But because I am a photographer some will say I have cheated. I say I have created art from my recollection of that morning and a series of photographs. As long as I am upfront about how the image was created I see no harm in that.
