This week found me thinking wistfully of my trip to Oregon last year about this time. My one tulip here in Santa Fe was brutalized by the wind this year. During last year’s trip it rained nearly every day but the flowers in my parents garden were just beautiful. This image I have processed before in different ways but I wanted to find a treatment that would really bring out the raindrops which were kind of lost in the yellow of the tulip. I ended up with a detail extraction filter in Nik Color Efex Pro along with a brilliance warmth filter. The flower came out much more red than the original but the raindrops really stand out and that is the look I was aiming for.
