I spent most of this week working on video and time lapse so I didn’t have much to share again. Then this morning I read Mike Moats’ blog about using bi-color filters on his fish pond photos and had an ah-ha moment. I love photographing the Koi at the botanic gardens in Albuquerque but they always seem to be lacking something. So I took this image into Nik Color Efex Pro and added a bi-color filter as Mike suggested. I also added a detail extractor which gave a cool look to the tree reflection in the lower right corner and finally a vintage film effect gave me the light vingnetting on the corners. Now I think it looks more like art and less like a dumb picture of fish in a murky pond. Thanks Mike!
