Day 50 – Glass of Wine

Wine

Playing with my food, or in this case wine, again. It was a long drive to Pacific City and about half way in I realized I had forgotten to put my tripod in the car. I prayed that I had not unloaded it the last time. No such luck. I take this as a sign from the universe that I need to work on hand held and more Lensbaby. Not to worry, the sunset pictures from my balcony turned out just fine. Elbows on the railing trump a tripod any day. But the view was such that it called out for a glass of wine (or two) . I became fascinated with the bubbles on the edge of the glass and out came the Sweet 50 to strut it’s stuff and I thought it did quite well, all things considered.  I added clarity and vibrance and that’s about it. Oh, yes, and here’s to being halfway through the 100 days of Lensbaby project.

Day29 – Grapes

Grapes

I figured out that if I get up early in the morning in France it is still the day before in Oregon so I can get my image posted in time to count. In any case yesterday for me was Mont St. Michel but I was so mesmerized by the medieval architecture that I forgot to switch over to a lensbaby lens. So, this image is from the day before at an open air market that happened outside our hotel. It was captured using the Sweet50 on the M3. I liked the contrast of the green and purple grapes. Unfortunately I had to crop off some of the purple ones to get rid of some ugly white plastic. Otherwise, I just added a high pass filter and a light vignette.

Day 20 – Pie

Pie

Grower’s Markets are always a great place to find fun things to photograph and today was no exception. I took the M100 with the Sweet 50 attached and then swapped it out for the Edge 35 and went around again. This one was captured with the sweet 50. Bottom line, I was in my happy place with the Sweet 50 and not so much with the Edge 35. So, decision made, given my ineptness it is not worth carrying around nearly a pound of dead weight and the Edge is staying home. The Sweet 50 and the Trio28 will have to carry the load for the lensbaby project (pun intended). I just hope I don’t turn into one of those camera nerds with two cameras slung around their neck.

Mandarin Oranges

I spent more time working on digital art than photography this week. But I finally got a background board I had ordered last month for doing food photography. Had to try it out and love the distressed white side. Shot this with my Lensbaby Velvet85. Processed it using one texture and a slight vignette.
