The great thing about macro photography is that you can do it any time any where. My parents have so many different kinds of trees in their yard I am thinking of doing a botanical study just on leaves. This one had the standard post processing. I tried doing a spot healing brush on the… Continue reading Day 34 – Birch Leaf

Day 33 – Grower’s Market
I wasn’t too motivated to photograph yesterday and then it rained. So I had to go back to the previous day and do some processing. I wanted at least one picture from the grower’s market that wasn’t just a close up of fruits and vegetables but I was feeling sensitive about making people less recognizable… Continue reading Day 33 – Grower’s Market
Day 32 – Onions
Here is another one from the grower’s market. I am really starting to see a nice body of work here, both from the grower’s market and the 100 days project. I’m getting a lot more good images at the market than I can post so look for a virtual gallery show in September or October. … Continue reading Day 32 – Onions
Day 31 – Mt McLoughlin
One of the things I have missed most about Oregon is the Volcanic peaks. Mt McLoughlin is southern Oregon’s own private “snowcap”. Of course it looks better with snow. Don’t worry, I’ll be back. Post processing was the standard treatment in Color Efex Pro; moderate detail, brilliance warmth and a lightened center.
Day 28 – Feather
The Oregon Coast is certainly a landscape photographers dream but one of my favorite things to photograph is feathers and shells on the beach. This one I processed to bring out as much color and detail as possible.
Day 27 – Crab Pots
I found these crab pots stacked at the harbor in Port Orford. All these years I have been driving by Port Orford without a thought. But a guidebook for photographers pointed me to the harbor area so I doubled back and found it to be a great place to photograph indeed. Post processing brought in… Continue reading Day 27 – Crab Pots
Day – 25 Bread
It’s Wednesday so this must be from the Tuesday grower’s market. I’m thinking my September virtual Gallery show will be on Grower’s Market. For this artisan bread shot I used the flat and detailed filter in Nik CEP and added a border. That’s all.
Day 24 – Curly Bark
As I have been walking my Mother’s dog each morning I have been fascinated by the bark on the Madrone trees along one stretch of the walk. So, I decided to bring the little camera along yesterday. What I learned was that dog walks and camera walks don’t mix. He expects me to stop and… Continue reading Day 24 – Curly Bark
Day 19 – Pears
One of the principle crops in my home area is pears. I was out driving through the orchards near where my new house is going up yesterday and grabbed a couple of shots of pears growing on the trees. Then I got creative this morning and added a texture from one of the French Kiss… Continue reading Day 19 – Pears
Day 18 – Berries
Artfully arranged berries at the Farmer’s market always make for a compelling image. Diagonal lines will always help your composition. For the record this was shot at yesterday’s market, not a continuation from last week. I did my usual tricks in Color Efex Pro…. detail extractor, brilliance/warmth/ and darken/lighten center.
