When I saw this sewing machine in a small town museum I just went ho-hum another Singer, click, click. It wasn’t until I got to editing the images that I noticed the Egyptian motif. So I cropped in to focus on the decal. I little research informed me that Singer had many different decals to choose from and a look back through my files tuned up two sphinxes, a lotus and a plain black. In future I will be taking more notice of the decoration when I see a Singer sewing machine! In post processing I used Nik Color Efex Pro with a detail extractor and a brilliance warmth filter, then added a border for artistic framing.
