Still grooving on the Farmer’s Market. I think these garlic bulbs are so pretty. Color, texture, shapes, it’s all here. I used the usual post processing formula, detail, brilliance/warmth, darken lighten center in Nik CEP. Then back in photoshop I added a smart sharpen filter to bring out the lines in those skins just a… Continue reading Day 13 – Garlic
Day 12 – Flowers at the Farmer’s Market
I got a little sidetracked yesterday but I still have plenty of material from the Farmer’s Market to process so look for a few more before I’m done. Just love the colors in this floral display. I did a basic post processing in color efex pro…. Detail extractor, brilliance warmth, darken/lighten center.
Day 11- Farmers Market
You just can’t beat a good Farmer’s Market for a variety of color and texture and interesting compositions. Ashland has a great one and I took alot of pictures I just picked the first one I like to share with you today so there may be more coming later in the week. For post processing… Continue reading Day 11- Farmers Market
Day 10 – Strawberry
Back in creative mode. I didn’t really like the dirt in the background of this strawberry so I opted for a texture instead. Then it seemed to cry out for a botanical label. I also added quite a bit of sharpening and detail to bring out the seeds on the berry.
Day 9 – Faded Daisy
This Daisy has obviously seen better days. I used post processing to emphasize the decay. In Color Efex Pro I used a bleach bypass filter along with some detail extraction. I also gave it a little darken/lighten center treatment on the yellow center. Back in Photoshop I took down the saturation. then I added a… Continue reading Day 9 – Faded Daisy
Day 8 – Calibrachoa
I thought these flowers would lend themselves well with a little texturing and I like the effect. I added three different textures from French Kiss with Gaussian blur added on the colorful ones to create the background using various blending modes. The more textured one I reduced the saturation and did about a 65% opacity… Continue reading Day 8 – Calibrachoa
Day 7 – Parade Entry
This was my favorite entry from the 4th of July parade in Ashland, Oregon. I’m all for patriotism on Independence Day but I also think we Americans need to focus more on being good neighbors and less on being the world’s police force. I also am fully in tune with this fellow’s message on the… Continue reading Day 7 – Parade Entry
Day 6 – Blueberry Pie
Blueberry Pie for 4th of July. Even at 81 years of age my Mom can’t stop baking. And the blueberries came from her garden. I just thought it made a great subject. I processed it in Nik Color Efex Pro. Added a detail filter, a brilliance warmth emphasizing cool colors, and a slight touch of… Continue reading Day 6 – Blueberry Pie
Day 5 – Hydrangea
Yep, I’m back in the garden. It seems I am going to have to get through helping Mom with Fourth of July preparations before I can get out on a full blown photo shoot. But, in the meantime there is plenty of subject matter in the garden! I did my traditional post processing approach on… Continue reading Day 5 – Hydrangea
Day 4 – Hotel
I thought it was time to get out of the garden and since I was downtown to sign some real estate papers yesterday I started experimenting with an idea I have had in mind to shoot architectural detail in downtown Ashland. This is the Hotel formerly known as the Mark Anthony. It’s current name is… Continue reading Day 4 – Hotel
